Murat Ağırel reveals title deeds for Altınok's 600 apartments

AKP's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok continues to be in the spotlight over allegations that he failed to fully disclose his assets. Most recently, it was claimed that Altınok owned 600 apartments that were not mentioned in his asset declaration. Murat Ağırel reveals title deeds for Altınok's 600 apartments

Altınok, who disclosed his assets and was revealed to own numerous properties in his own name in Ankara, had previously stated the following when addressing allegations that he owned 600 apartments in Antalya:

"Anyone who says I have 600 homes is a liar, a slanderer, a mud-slinger, and immoral. Mansur Yavaş says, 'Turgut Altınok did not submit an asset declaration.' He is lying, slandering, and throwing mud.

If he shows the title deeds for 600 apartments in Altınok's name, I will resign. If he has an ounce of honor or dignity, he should resign.

We will file civil and criminal lawsuits against everyone who writes or draws these things. There is a mayor whose assets are decreasing. Yavaş bought a house in London after becoming Mayor. The house he lives in is worth 25 million lira. Let him explain with what money he bought it."

Murat Ağırel revealed the documents regarding the properties in Antalya that Altınok had claimed "do not have title deeds" as follows:

"Mr. Turgut Altınok did not disclose all of his assets. He did not disclose the bank, he did not disclose assets like gold and foreign currency. Moreover, he said, 'I do not use any account other than the one where I receive my pension.' This means the money is being held in another form of value.

After these plots were disclosed, I became curious about the size of these fields and parcels and followed up on them, and then I saw that these parcels were larger than many of our provinces. Then we learned that one of these plots was given in exchange for construction; for example, while income should have been recorded for this, it was not. While I was researching these parcels, they had said that both Altınok's older brother and he himself had land in Antalya.

I learned that 600 apartments were built on this plot. These are the photos. A 600-apartment project is being started on that land. Mr. Altınok says, 'Prove it, I don't have such apartments'... According to the documents I reached, the assets and operations may have been transferred to Altınok's brother, Hacı Altınok..."
