Murat Kurum had offered: Naci Görür's statement on 'consultancy'!
Responding to claims that he would become an advisor to Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate of the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür said, "If I am to work for the earthquake issue, I will help all parties."
Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür responded to the question of whether he would become an advisor to AKP's Istanbul candidate Murat Kurum on İsmail Küçükkaya's program on Halk TV.
Confirming Murat Kurum's consultancy offer, Görür stated, "I am currently providing consultancy to İSKİ and İmamoğlu as well. Almost all party leaders have spoken to me regarding the earthquake and have offered me various roles. I responded to all of them, including Murat Kurum, with respect, saying, 'You cannot pin a badge on me. If you tell me to commit to one party, I will not do it. But regarding the earthquake, if you say you want to prevent people from dying, I am at the service of you all.'"
Görür added, "Let me remain above politics so that everyone can hear my voice. If you tie me to one party, the other parties will not listen to my voice."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Naci Görür had announced in a live broadcast on FOX TV the previous day that Murat Kurum had offered him a consultancy role.
Görür had used the expressions, “Murat Kurum offered me consultancy. For us, the earthquake issue is a matter of survival. If we do not do what is necessary regarding the earthquake in the Marmara Region, Turkey's economic and political independence will be in danger.”
