Murder in Pendik: Killed while withdrawing money from an ATM

In an incident that occurred around noon in the Güllübağlar neighborhood of Pendik, businessman Emrah Akyıldız (37), who had left his residential complex by car, was killed in an armed attack while withdrawing money from an ATM on the street. As the murder suspect fled the scene, details of the incident have emerged.

IDENTITY DETERMINED

Following the incident, teams from the Pendik District Police Department and the Homicide Bureau took action. Police teams examined security camera footage from the surrounding area and placed the suspect under scrutiny. Based on the footage showing the suspect's escape, police identified the suspect in a short time. The murder suspect was identified as 36-year-old H.I.

CHECKED INTO A HOTEL TWO DAYS AGO

Investigations revealed that H.I. had checked into a hotel in Pendik two days earlier with a 45-year-old Georgian national woman named N.T. It was observed that the suspect and the woman had checked out of the hotel on the morning of the incident.

FOLLOWED FOR 10 DAYS

The photograph of the identified suspect was shown to eyewitnesses of the incident. The suspect, who was also identified by eyewitnesses, allegedly had been loitering in the area for 10 days.

PISTOL AND BELONGINGS FOUND

In the incident, which was determined to be a murder carried out as a result of a 10-day planned surveillance, the pistol the suspect discarded while fleeing was found. Police teams conducting searches in the vicinity also recovered a pair of white Bluetooth headphones, a black beanie, one 9mm shell casing, and one deformed bullet core from a trash container. A multi-faceted operation is underway to apprehend the murder suspect.
