Murder mystery in Diyarbakır: Aunt Hediye's relationship and medication use raise questions

The identity of the killer in the murder of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the village of Tavşantepe in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır and whose body was found in a creek bed on September 8, remains a mystery.

While it has not been determined by whom or why she was killed, allegations of a romantic relationship between her aunt Hediye Güran (39)—who was taken into custody after all family members were questioned and referred to the courthouse on the 5th day despite the 4-day detention period expiring—and the village headman and uncle Salim Güran have strengthened.

Security camera footage from the pharmacy where Hediye Güran and her sister-in-law Yüksel Güran, Narin's mother, purchased medication has emerged.

An examination of the pharmacy's barcode scanner records for the day they purchased the medication revealed that Hediye Güran had purchased a contraceptive pill, known as the morning-after pill, and that Yüksel Güran had purchased different medications.

A notable detail is that it was determined she purchased the contraceptive medication during a period when Hediye's husband, Fuat Güran, had been away from home for 1.5 months.

SHE HAD DENIED EVERYTHING

In her statement, Hediye Güran vehemently denied having a relationship with her brother-in-law Salim, saying, "There is no such thing." During an examination by the gendarmerie's cybercrimes bureau of the image taken from the old phone of Hediye, who changed her phone 3 days after Narin went missing, it was determined that there were multiple missed calls and calls between her and Salim.

Hediye Güran defended herself regarding these calls, stating, "I did not call. My children probably called from my phone. If there is a call from Salim, it is because Salim's wife was calling from Salim's phone."

After being taken into custody, Hediye Güran repeated her subsequent statements almost word-for-word, using a cut-and-paste method, despite having stated in her first interview with the gendarmerie that her brother Enes had been struggling with his mother and that his mother had bitten his arm.

She stated that she did not see the incident and did not know who killed Narin, and following this statement, she was arrested for the crime of "intentional killing in complicity."
