Müsavat Dervişoğlu's 'early election' remarks! 'With these moves they have made...'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements regarding the current agenda during a live broadcast he attended.

Responding to questions on the Çalar Saat program on Now TV, Dervişoğlu stated that they are not against a "Turkey without terrorism," but that seeking help from the terrorist leader to combat or end terrorism will not lead to a Turkey without terrorism.

Stating that early elections and constitutional amendments are being discussed, Dervişoğlu used the expression, "With these political moves they have made, by securing the support of the DEM Party in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, they are both paving the way for constitutional amendments and leading Turkey to an early election without the will of other opposition parties, thereby paving the way for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to be a presidential candidate again."

"THE PERSON WHO SHOULD INFORM ME IS A STATE OFFICIAL"

Regarding the DEM Party delegation's meeting with terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, Dervişoğlu said, "It was suggested that the delegation hold a meeting and inform us. The person who should inform me on this matter is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of National Defense, or a state official appointed by the President."

When asked about the statements made by Ülkü Ocakları Education and Culture Foundation Chairman Ahmet Yiğit Yıldırım, Dervişoğlu said, "I am not saying anything to the leader of anyone's political party. My reactions are directed at Abdullah Öcalan, at this trap set for Turkey, and at the uprising planned against the Republic of Turkey. I cannot understand why some people are taking this personally."

Claiming that he was threatened for defending the gains and values of the Republic, Dervişoğlu continued his words as follows:

"I am warning all political parties to meet on a correct path. Instead of speaking the truth out of political concern, everyone is calculating how to feed off this situation. 'Let's make sure we don't stay out of this'—well, you didn't stay out, you all got involved. You all are one, I am alone as the İYİ Party, and that is the issue."

Making evaluations regarding the economy, Dervişoğlu stated that it has been said since 2019 that inflation would fall to single digits, and that the nature of the crises needs to be defined.

"THE PRESIDENT MUST ADMIT IT"

Dervişoğlu said, "They are trying to create a feeling as if inflation is rising because tradesmen in Turkey are selling at exorbitant prices. The President must now also admit that the crisis in Turkey is a crisis stemming from mismanagement."

Stating that crises were experienced in Turkey in the past as well, Dervişoğlu assessed, "In the 2001 crisis, both institutions and banks were in debt. Today, it is the public that is in debt in Turkey. In '94 it was institutions, in 2001 it was institutions and banks, and in today's crisis, it is the public that is in debt. There is a deep, chronic, and internally eroded economic order in Turkey. This is a situation stemming not from economic management, but from a lack of management."

Explaining that non-performing credit card debts amount to 56 billion 701 million liras, Dervişoğlu said, "The average credit card debt per person is 90 thousand liras. The number of people with individual credit card debt is 41 million. In such a situation, the card to be shown to the President should be a credit card rather than a red card. 41 million citizens are currently in a miserable state due to their credit card debts."

Dervişoğlu stated that they are acting only based on macro indicators and data put forward by TÜİK, and expressed that the citizen looks at their own table and wallet.
