Mustafa Çiftçi ends the practice from the Yerlikaya era

Mustafa Çiftçi, who was appointed as Minister of Interior by the decision of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is bringing a new approach to the ministry's security issues and public communication. According to information obtained from ministry sources, significant changes are planned regarding how operations are announced.

According to a report by Hande Fırat, a columnist for the pro-government newspaper Hürriyet, the Ministry of Interior will no longer routinely present daily reports and data regarding security operations to the public in the new era. Officials state that briefings on operations will be kept limited to only exceptional and significant events.

It is stated that the "crime score" posts, which were frequently encountered on the ministry's social media accounts and announced operation results with numerical data, will no longer be published regularly. Thus, the ministry aims to use a more balanced and calm tone when informing the public, especially regarding security.

It is noted that Mustafa Çiftçi will adopt the same balanced tone in public statements and during moments of crisis, and will prioritize public trust and peace in the communication of security policies.

With this new communication strategy, it is observed that the Ministry of Interior will be selective in its operation announcements and will maintain an attitude distant from tension in news reflected to the public.
