Naci Görür issues striking warning for Istanbul following earthquake in the Aegean Sea!
Evaluating the 4.6-magnitude earthquake in the Aegean Sea, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür stated, "This earthquake is on the northern branch of the NAF, the branch where we expect an earthquake in Istanbul. It could affect stress distribution."
AFAD reported that a 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea at 08:18.
The tremor off the coast of Gökçeada was recorded at a depth of 12.61 kilometers.
Prof. Dr. Naci Görür shared an evaluation regarding the 4.6-magnitude earthquake on his social media account.
Görür stated that the earthquake occurred on the northern branch of the North Anatolian Fault (NAF), the branch where an earthquake is expected in Istanbul, and issued the warning: "It could affect stress distribution."
Görür's post is as follows:
"There was a 4.8 earthquake in the Aegean Sea. This earthquake is on the northern branch of the NAF, the branch where we expect an earthquake in Istanbul. It could affect stress distribution. Get well soon."
