Informing citizens via his social media account following the earthquakes, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür wrote the following after the Balıkesir earthquake:

"An earthquake occurred in Adaören-Dursunbey/Balıkesir. The earthquake is on the eastern extension of the Balıkesir Fault Zone.

There were also earthquakes of certain magnitudes in the Dursunbey region in the 20th century, in 1924, 1952, and 1979.

In 1898, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Balıkesir. With love."
