In Diyarbakır, Muhtar Salim Güran, the imprisoned uncle of 8-year-old Narin Güran who was murdered, has been removed from his position as village headman.
It was reported that Salim Güran was removed from office as part of an investigation launched by the Bağlar District Governorate. The duties of the village headman will be carried out temporarily by the first member of the council.
Nevzat Bahtiyar, who gave a statement as a confessor in the Narin Güran murder case, had stated that Salim Güran killed Narin Güran and asked him to 'dispose of' the body.
