It has been reported that a new two-story prefabricated building will be constructed at the Marmara Prison complex in Silivri.

Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu—who is also currently detained—are located at the Marmara Prison campus in Silivri, where an additional structure is planned to be built.
According to reports by Nisanur Yıldırım from Nefes, a tender was held on November 15, 2024, for the construction of an 832-square-meter, two-story prefabricated building.
The tender, which was finalized at a cost of approximately 108.1 million TL, aims to have the construction completed by May 8, 2025.
Opened in 2008 and previously known as Silivri Prison, the Marmara Prison has over time become one of the largest prisons in Europe. There are a total of 10 separate prisons within the complex.
