New arrests in Bolu Municipality operation!

The investigation into the BolSev Foundation, affiliated with Bolu Municipality, in which Mayor Tanju Özcan and Ali Sarıyıldız are being tried while in custody, continues.

In 2025, donations were collected from citizens by the BolSev Foundation for the purpose of sacrificial slaughter. It was alleged that not a single transaction regarding the purchase or slaughter of sacrificial animals was made in the foundation's records.

It was claimed in the investigation that the donations were not delivered to those in need.

According to IHA, it was learned that BolSev Board Member Ali Sarıyıldız, who is currently in custody, defended himself in his statement by saying, "We did not collect the donations to slaughter sacrifices, but to provide scholarships to students." It was stated that 36 people have been included in the investigation file as victims so far.

THEY WERE ARRESTED

In this context, Bolu Deputy Mayor Leyla Beykoz and CHP Municipal Council Member Aydan Özdemir, who are part of the foundation's management, were detained by gendarmerie teams yesterday morning.

The processing of the two individuals brought to the Bolu Provincial Gendarmerie Command has been completed. After a health check, Beykoz and Özdemir were brought to the Bolu Courthouse in gendarmerie vehicles. Following their procedures at the prosecutor's office, the two individuals were referred to the duty magistrate, where they were arrested and sent to prison.
