New development in 70 million TL fraud: Suspect who defrauded IYI Party's Burhanettin Kocamaz arrested
The suspect who called Burhanettin Kocamaz, introduced himself as the Mersin Counter-Terrorism Branch Manager, and defrauded him of 70 million TL has been arrested along with the money as a result of police efforts.
IYI Party Mersin Deputy Burhanettin Kocamaz became the target of a fraud scheme set up by an individual who called him on the phone and introduced himself as the Mersin Counter-Terrorism Branch Manager. Believing the suspect's instructions, Kocamaz lost approximately 70 million TL to the fraudsters.
Following the discovery of the incident, police units launched a large-scale investigation. As a result of the examinations and tracking, the suspect identified as having defrauded Kocamaz was located.
SUSPECT ARRESTED WITH THE MONEY
The suspect was taken into custody during an operation, and the money obtained through fraud was seized. It was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
