New development in armed attack on Galatasaray fans

According to information received from the Istanbul Police Department, the incident occurred yesterday around 17:00 at Dalyan Park in the Fenerbahçe neighborhood. A group of Galatasaray fans were drinking alcohol while displaying a Galatasaray flag in the park when they were warned by an unidentified individual. The argument that broke out between the parties following this warning quickly escalated into a fight.

During the fight, it was determined that the suspect first fired into the air with a weapon he had with him, and then wounded a Galatasaray fan named S.O. (46). The injured S.O. was taken to the hospital by police teams arriving at the scene.

SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN ÜSKÜDAR

As a result of the investigations conducted after the incident, the identity of the suspect, M.A., was determined. M.A., who was caught in the vehicle he was fleeing in within Üsküdar, was taken into custody along with the weapon used in the incident. The suspect will be referred to judicial authorities on charges of "Intentional Injury" and "Intentionally Endangering General Security." Law enforcement forces searched 8 different addresses to apprehend the suspect, and M.A. (24) was taken into custody on May 20, 2025.
