New development in corruption operation at Silivri Municipality
In the investigation launched into Silivri Municipality over corruption allegations, 17 people, including Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, were detained. The detained individuals underwent health checks.
An operation was conducted by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch into Silivri Municipality over corruption allegations. During the operation, 17 suspects, including Mayor Bora Balcıoğlu, were detained. Meanwhile, it was observed that police teams had taken security measures in front of Silivri Municipality.
The suspects were taken for health checks at Bayrampaşa State Hospital before being referred to the courthouse.
Making a statement before the referral, Balcıoğlu said, "I am fine, my health and morale are good. No one should worry; my conscience is clear, my head is held high. I will be at the Silivri Courthouse on Monday, June 15, at 08:30. This process is not just about me; it is a matter of protecting the will and conscience of Silivri and the beautiful future we have built together."
