New development in footballer murder: 8 people detained in bloody attack in Ümraniye

In the Ümraniye district of Istanbul, 21-year-old footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı lost his life as a result of an armed attack that occurred on the night of March 19. The incident took place on Sıddık Street, and 8 people involved in the attack have been detained. The police are continuing their investigation into the murder.

THEY ARRIVED IN VEHICLES WITH EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND ATTACKED

The origin of the incident stems from the efforts of Vahap Canbay, a member of the famous rap group Canbay & Wolker, to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend, Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu.

Canbay, who wanted the couple, who had broken up some time ago, to get back together, asked for help from his footballer friend Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı. Kundakçı went to the front of the studio where Kalaycıoğlu was located, along with Canbay and their friends, and began waiting inside the vehicle.

At that moment, a group of attackers arriving in luxury vehicles equipped with emergency lights carried out an armed attack on Kundakçı and his friends waiting in the car. The attackers, who got out of the vehicles, opened fire on their targets. One of the bullets struck the young footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı.

ARMED ATTACK AND IDENTIFIED SUSPECTS

The police identified the attackers in a short time as a result of the operations they launched immediately after the incident. It is stated that among the detained suspects is Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu (28), who was involved in the murder. Additionally, 8 people named M.R. (52), H.C.A. (25), M.K. (59), E.T. (63), A.Ö. (46), A.T. (28), and Z.K. (50) were detained. The weapon used in the attack was also seized.

The investigations conducted by the police revealed the reason for the armed attack. According to allegations, the new boyfriend of singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu noticed her ex-boyfriend, Vahap Canbay, waiting in front of the studio. This situation caused tension, and Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who got out of the vehicles with emergency lights, opened fire with a gun toward the group where Canbay and Kundakçı were located.

Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who was taken to the hospital after the initial intervention at the scene, lost his life despite all medical efforts.
