New development in illegal betting operation: Another company seized
The investigation into those laundering illegal betting proceeds through the Paymix payment institution has been deepened. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that the company Pentech provided infrastructure to illegal bookmakers and detained eight suspects.
The investigation into those laundering illegal betting proceeds through the Malta-based payment institution Paymix has been deepened. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has expanded the investigation after uncovering new findings in illegal betting operations linked to Paymix. As a result of the examinations, the name of a company called Pentech, which was determined to provide technical infrastructure to illegal betting sites, was brought to light.
TRUSTEE APPOINTED TO PENTECH COMPANY
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting the investigation, announced that a trustee has been appointed to the company named Pentech following the examination of digital materials. The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), appointed as the trustee, has taken over the management of the company. This development indicates that the scope of the investigation has expanded and that the state is taking a more active stance in such operations.
EIGHT SUSPECTS DETAINED
Deepening the investigation, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued detention warrants for eight suspects linked to the Pentech company. Gendarmerie teams carried out simultaneous raids in Istanbul and detained the eight suspects. It was stated that the suspects were connected to illegal betting proceeds through the company.

COMPANIES AND REAL ESTATE SEIZED
Within the framework of the investigation, by the decision of the Istanbul Duty Criminal Court of Peace, the TMSF was also appointed as a trustee to Beluza Yazılım Bilişim Teknolojileri Turizm Tarım Gıda ve İnşaat Yatırımları Limited Şirketi. Furthermore, 10 properties, 5 vehicles, and bank accounts belonging to the suspects were seized. These steps were among the measures taken to freeze the earnings obtained from illegal betting.
DETAILS OF THE 27 BILLION LIRA OPERATION
Last week, a new operation was launched regarding money laundering activities conducted through the Paymix payment institution. According to MASAK reports, it was determined that a Germany-based infrastructure provider company supplied infrastructure to 40 illegal betting sites that were blocked by the BTK in Turkey. It was revealed that these betting sites generated approximately 1 billion dollars in monthly revenue.
According to findings made within the scope of the investigation, these generated revenues were transferred to cryptocurrency exchanges abroad through the Malta-based payment institution Fincrypto UAB (Paymix). According to the MASAK report, the total transaction volume of the suspects between January and November 2025 reached 26 billion 532 million 385 thousand 74 Turkish Lira.
