11 people arrested in the operations launched into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) have been released after benefiting from the effective remorse law. Judicial control measures, including travel bans, house arrest, and mandatory police station check-ins, were imposed on the released individuals.

A new development has occurred in the IMM operations, in which CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was arrested.

11 more individuals arrested in the operations have benefited from effective remorse.

The 11 people who benefited from effective remorse have been released.

The 11 people released are as follows:

Aziz İhsan Aktaş and Mustafa Mutlu: House arrest and travel ban

Hüseyin Kum, Taner Gümüş, Murat Bıyık, Kadir Gümüş, Altan Gözcü: Judicial control through travel ban and mandatory signature

Servet Yıldırım: House arrest and travel ban

Sami Özge Arıoğlu, Erdem Arıoğlu, and Mustafa Başar Arıoğlu: House arrest and travel ban

STATEMENTS FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

The statements of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the aforementioned releases are as follows:

"Following the statements provided after Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was detained for being a criminal organization leader and bribery, and Mustafa Mutlu, who was detained for being a member of a criminal organization, expressed their desire to benefit from effective remorse provisions in our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation file numbered 2024/236201, the criminal judgeship of peace decided to release them under judicial control measures including house arrest and a travel ban, based on the findings made.

In our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation file numbered 2024/228233, Sami Özge Arıoğlu, Erdem Arıoğlu, and Mustafa Başar Arıoğlu, who were detained for bid-rigging and bribery, were released by the criminal judgeship of peace under judicial control measures including a travel ban and house arrest, after they provided sincere statements based on concrete events and regarding the structure and operation of the organization within the scope of the tender for the construction of the Kirazlı - Halkalı Metro Line.

Regarding those detained in our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's investigation file numbered 2024/228233, who provided sincere statements within the scope of the effective remorse provisions set forth in Article 221 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) regarding concrete events and the structure and operation of the organization;
