New development in the investigation into Ferdi Zeyrek's electric shock incident! Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç announced

The judicial investigation launched following the incident in which Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek was seriously injured after suffering an electric shock while attempting to address an electrical leak in his home pool is continuing with an expanded scope.

According to information shared by Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated a detailed examination of the incident. In this context, 1 deputy chief public prosecutor and 2 prosecutors have been specifically assigned to deepen the investigation.

Initial technical examinations conducted by an expert committee and fire department teams following the incident identified a serious technical malfunction that caused the electrical leak in the pool system. It was also stated that there were deficiencies in the safety and protection systems within the installation.

While the process of meticulously preparing expert reports continues, statements were taken from individuals connected to the incident as part of the initial phase of the investigation. A total of 12 people, including those responsible for the maintenance and technical operations of the pool, as well as the fire department teams that first arrived at the scene, have provided statements. Additionally, 2 people were questioned in the capacity of "suspects."

Justice Minister Tunç stated that the investigation is focused on clarifying every aspect of the incident and uncovering any potential negligence or errors, adding, "All evidence is being evaluated carefully. I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who is continuing his treatment in the hospital, and I hope he regains his health as soon as possible."
