Two of the 29 individuals detained within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office were released following the completion of their questioning at the police station. The remaining 27 individuals were taken to the Antalya Courthouse under heavy security measures following their statement procedures.
It was reported that within the scope of the investigation, statements will be taken from several individuals, including Muhittin Böcek, who was suspended from his position as Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and is currently in custody, and Durmuş Ali Arslan, the former deputy secretary-general of the municipality, who is also in custody.
On the other hand, it was stated that the statement of the Metropolitan Municipality Secretary-General C.T., for whom a detention warrant has been issued, will be taken after he is discharged following his surgery. Additionally, it was announced that there are 3 individuals still being sought.
Last week, in line with the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams, centered in Antalya and extending to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Muğla, Denizli, and Edirne, and 27 people were initially detained. In the following days of the investigation, two more people were added to the detention list.
According to the reports and expert examinations that form the basis of the investigation, serious irregularities were detected in the tenders conducted by ANSET. In the file prepared with the contributions of police and civil service inspectors, it was noted that there is strong suspicion of illegal interference in public tenders, the acquisition of unfair gains, and attempts to launder proceeds of crime through various methods. According to the findings, a total public loss of 113 million 426 thousand 440 Turkish Liras has occurred.
