A new era in Ankara transport: Giant metrobus vehicles are coming
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is adding new-generation, 25-meter-long, 270-passenger capacity metrobuses to the EGO fleet to modernize public transport and reduce traffic load. The vehicles, which will serve on three main routes, stand out with their advanced technological equipment.
The EGO General Directorate is preparing to add high-capacity, double-articulated metrobuses to its vehicle fleet to strengthen public transport services in Ankara. According to a statement from the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB), these new vehicles will both increase the quality of urban transport and reduce traffic congestion.
HIGH PASSENGER CAPACITY AND MODERN EQUIPMENT
The new metrobuses will be 25 meters long and have a capacity of at least 270 passengers. The vehicles are designed to be accessible to disabled passengers, featuring 29 seats and 2 wheelchair compartments.
The metrobuses are also equipped with technological features such as fully automatic transmissions, air-conditioned driver and passenger cabins, USB charging points, digital passenger information screens, camera-assisted mirrors, and fire extinguishing and emergency evacuation systems. This equipment will elevate both driver safety and passenger comfort to the highest level.
SPECIAL TRAINING FOR EGO PERSONNEL HAS BEGUN
Technical and driving training has also begun for the EGO drivers who will operate the new vehicles. These training sessions aim to ensure that drivers are proficient in all vehicle systems and provide service with maximum efficiency. The training program will contribute to both traffic safety and the improvement of service quality.
