Following the adoption of the 17-article 'Bill on Amendments to the Animal Protection Law' prepared by the AKP, which includes the killing of stray animals if they are not adopted, the TBMM entered recess until October 1.

According to a report in Gazete Duvar, the AKP will spend the 2-month recess period preparing new laws to be brought to the agenda in October.

Stating that the approximately 4-year period without elections offers a very valuable opportunity to address some fundamental problems and implement reforms in certain areas, party officials stated that they would work on many issues within this scope, from social security reform to the execution law.

It is noted that the execution system has been disrupted by a series of changes made for various reasons in recent years, that it needs to be overhauled from scratch, and that there is a serious demand from the public on this issue.
