New operation targeting Antalya Metropolitan Municipality: Muhittin Böcek's hairdresser detained
As part of a new investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, detention warrants have been issued for four individuals, including the hairdresser of former mayor Muhittin Böcek; three suspects have been apprehended, while search efforts continue for one person.
Significant developments have occurred in a new bribery and corruption investigation launched into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Within the scope of the investigation, detention warrants were issued for Özcan Say, the hairdresser who has worked for former mayor Muhittin Böcek for a long time; Batuhan Ülker, a social media company executive; Zahide Betül Şengül, an architect and municipal employee; and journalist Cevdet Dönmez. Authorities announced that three suspects were apprehended yesterday, while noting that search efforts are ongoing for Dönmez, who remains at large.
It was reported that the detention warrants were issued following an investigation initiated by a tip-off alleging that "funds belonging to Muhittin Böcek were being hidden by Özcan Say and that municipal employee Gökhan Böcek was filmed while paying bribes to selected individuals." Teams conducted the operation following allegations that the aforementioned footage was in the possession of Batuhan Ülker, his partner Zahide Betül Şengül, and journalist Cevdet Dönmez.
