New statement from Minister Yerlikaya on the Narin Güran murder: 'It will be clarified before long'

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made assessments regarding the details of the investigation into 8-year-old Narin, whose lifeless body was found in Diyarbakır, during a live broadcast he attended.

Yerlikaya said, "I believe that at the point we have reached, it will be clarified before too much time passes."

Yerlikaya said the following in his statements:

As a nation, we are deeply saddened. May our daughter rest in peace. We pray that this does not happen again. This incident will be recounted many times over. There are many lessons we must learn as a society. There is a great effort being made.

There is an indescribable pain, a great tragedy. When we watch videos of generations with bright, beautiful faces looking to the future with hope, I think it should not have ended this way, and I feel ashamed as I think, 'how could they do this?'

As a father who sees, hears, and feels this, I am deeply saddened.

I made a post when we found Narin's body. Our President also made a post. He said he would follow up on finding the killers of our daughter Narin. As a state, there is such a sensitive and deeply emotional determination.

While this is the case, I see it as a great injustice for some to try to use even this incident for political competition, and I do not find it becoming of them.
