New trial date set for 12 suspects in Narin Güran case

The investigation into the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21, 2024, in Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, and whose lifeless body was found in Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, 2024, has been completed.

The indictment prepared by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against a total of 12 defendants, 6 of whom are in custody, on charges of "aiding and abetting a criminal" has been accepted by the 17th Criminal Court of First Instance. The hearing date has been set for April 14.

THREE SUSPECTS TO BE TRIED IN JUVENILE COURT

The file concerning the children dragged into crime among the defendants, R.A. (16), M.G. (16), and İ.K. (17), has been submitted to the 2nd Juvenile Court.

The defendants in custody were identified as Birsen, Fuat, and Maşallah Güran, along with Mehmet Selim Atasoy, a worker for Salim Güran, as well as Mehmet Şevket Kaya and Muhammed Kaya; the defendants being tried without custody were identified as Şeyma Kaya, Hediye, İbrahim Halil, Barış, Kurtuluş, and Ömer Faruk Güran. The court's process regarding the case will begin on April 14.
