No negative reports following 4.2 magnitude earthquake in the Aegean Sea! Field surveys have begun
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that a 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Çandarlı Gulf of the Aegean Sea. Stating that the earthquake was also felt in İzmir, Yerlikaya reported that all teams from AFAD and relevant institutions have begun field surveys and that there have been no negative reports so far.
AFAD stated in its announcement that the earthquake occurred at 14:53 in the Aegean Sea, off the coast of the Aliağa district of İzmir, at a depth of 9.18 kilometers.
Minister of Interior Yerlikaya shared the following statement on his X account regarding the matter:
"Following the 4.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Çandarlı Gulf of the Aegean Sea and was also felt in İzmir, all teams from AFAD and our relevant institutions have begun field surveys. As of now, there are no negative reports. We are monitoring the developments. I extend my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and our nation from disasters."
