Önder Demirtaş, the father of Doğukan Demirtaş, who worked on the ship owned by Martı Denizcilik, stated that following his son's disappearance, Singaporean judicial authorities conducted detailed searches on the ship and that the evidence collected has been submitted to the prosecutor's office. According to the report in Birgün, Önder Demirtaş said, "We hope our son is found as soon as possible. We are waiting for good news from the authorities in Singapore."
He also emphasized that the results of examinations conducted on a body found in the region showed that it was not their son, and therefore, the investigations are continuing. Father Demirtaş also expressed that his son was a good swimmer and could have reached a nearby island by swimming, requesting that the search efforts be expanded.
