Non-teaching Ministry of National Education staff can now also benefit from discounts
Following the instructions of Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, all Ministry of National Education (MEB) staff, in addition to teachers, will now be able to stay at teacher houses with a 50 percent discount.
According to a written statement from the Ministry, a regulation was previously put in place for the 2022-2023 academic year to provide a 50 percent discount on accommodation fees until the end of 2023, considering the accommodation needs of teachers in the provinces where they were assigned, and to reserve the existing capacity solely for teachers in need of accommodation during this period.
Following the implementation, the requests from non-teaching MEB staff were not left unaddressed.
With the instruction of Minister Yusuf Tekin, the accommodation needs of personnel serving in non-teaching positions within the Ministry were also taken into account.
The statement announced that, without canceling previously made reservations and without falling below cost prices for accommodation fees, a 50 percent discount, excluding breakfast, will be applied to all other Ministry personnel in addition to teachers, based on the service rates applied to civilian guests, until the end of 2024.
