Nuclear power plant threat following earthquakes in Japan! No abnormalities detected

It has been reported that tsunami waves between 3 and 5 meters high reached various parts of the region's coastline within the last 1.5 hours following the earthquakes in Japan. The tremors were felt across Ishikawa, in the Toyama, Fukui, and Niigata prefectures along the Sea of Japan coast, as well as in the capital Tokyo and its surrounding areas.

During a live broadcast on state broadcaster NHK, "Major Tsunami, Evacuate Immediately" warnings were issued for the coastal areas. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stated that damage assessment efforts are ongoing in the region and called on the public to heed evacuation orders. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi announced that no abnormalities have been detected at the out-of-service nuclear power plant located in the coastal city of Shika, Ishikawa.
