Number of detentions rises in Bolu fire tragedy
Two more people have been detained in the investigation into the fire tragedy at Bolu Kartalkaya. The total number of detainees has thus risen to 14.
The investigation into the hotel fire at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, which claimed the lives of 78 people, is deepening. Two more people have been detained as part of the investigation, bringing the total number of detainees to 14.
It has been learned that 9 of the detained individuals will be referred to the courthouse today, while the statements of the other suspects continue to be taken.
In line with new findings regarding the cause of the fire, it was announced that expert academics in their fields have been appointed as expert witnesses. Faculty members from the Istanbul Technical University Disaster Management Institute, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Faculty of Civil Engineering will support the investigation by using their expertise in fire and building fire protection.
While it was stated that the investigation is continuing in all aspects, it was noted that the possibilities of negligence or intent regarding the fire are also being examined in detail.
