Number of websites blocked in Turkey exceeds 1 million
According to data from the Freedom of Expression Association, as of the end of March 2024, 1 million 43 thousand 312 websites and domain names in Turkey have been blocked from access by decisions made by various institutions and judges.

According to the study conducted by the Freedom of Expression Association as part of its "Engelli Web" (Blocked Web) project, as of the end of March 2024, 1 million 43 thousand 312 websites and domain names in Turkey were blocked from access through a total of 892 thousand 951 different decisions issued by 833 different institutions and judges.

According to the study, which notes that this number may increase with newly identified domain names, the majority of the blocks are carried out by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), as was the case with Instagram.
