The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has filed an objection to the release of 10 defendants in the trial of 46 individuals known to the public as the 'Newborn Gang,' who are accused of transferring newborn emergency patients to neonatal units of private hospitals they had pre-arranged with, causing their deaths, and obtaining illicit financial gain. The prosecution has requested that the release decision be overturned and that the defendants be re-arrested.

WHO WAS RELEASED IN THE NEWBORN GANG CASE?

During the 27th hearing held yesterday, the court panel decided to release defendants Aslı Alemdağ, Müberra Palabıyık, Gözde Polat (secretaries), Senanur Ünlü (medical secretary), Deniz Korkmaz (nurse), Fehmi Alperen (patient transfer coordinator), Bener Mansuroğlu (Responsible Manager and Chief Physician of Silivri Kolan Hospital), Remzi Karaca (health officer), Murat Mantuş (Administrative Manager of TRG Hospitalist Hospital), and Renas Kılıç (a detained defendant who stated he worked as the Health Affairs Manager at Esenyurt Municipality), while ruling for the continued detention of 19 other defendants.
