Oğuz Murat Aci's grieving father speaks out! 'They will come back in handcuffs'
Timur Cihantimur, who fled after the accident that caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci, was captured in the US following Turkey's extradition request. As Cihantimur's extradition case continues, Oğuz Murat Aci's father, Özer Aci, reiterated his demand for justice, saying, "They will come to Turkey in handcuffs; I am waiting for them at the airport." Welcoming the fact that Cihantimur will remain in jail for another week, Aci said, "I believe an extradition decision will be issued."
Özer Aci, the father of Oğuz Murat Aci, who lost his life in a traffic accident that occurred in Eyüpsultan on March 1, commented on the judge's decision to postpone the extradition request during the latest hearing for Timur Cihantimur—who fled to the US after the incident and was captured upon Turkey's request—stating, "I believe that a 100 percent extradition decision will be issued for both of them at the hearing next week."
EXTRADITION CASE
In the hearing held yesterday in the US for 17-year-old Timur Cihantimur, who fled to the US after being involved in a fatal traffic accident in Istanbul and was captured in Boston following Turkey's extradition request, the judge asked the parties for their final written defenses and stated that the decision would be made later.
Aci's tearful father, Özer Aci, and mother, Pervin Aci, followed the outcome of the case, which began at 18:00 Turkish time, from their home in Istanbul. Father Aci, who stays informed about developments in the case through family friends living in the US who attend the hearings as observers, called this person via video call on his mobile phone after the hearing concluded.

Learning that the court had postponed the hearing and that no decision had been made yet, the family asked how Cihantimur had behaved in the courtroom and received the answer that he had acted in a relaxed manner.

MOTHER COULD NOT HOLD BACK TEARS WHILE TALKING ABOUT HER SON
While mother Pervin could not hold back her tears while talking about her son, father Özer Aci evaluated the court's postponement decision.

"I AM GLAD HE WILL REMAIN IN JAIL FOR ANOTHER WEEK"
Father Aci stated that the case of Cihantimur's mother, Eylem Tok, which was heard on October 10, was also postponed for the same reason, and that he expects this case to be delayed by a week or 15 days, adding, "The point I am happy about right now is that he will remain in jail for another week in a place like the US; I was expecting this."

"THEY WILL COME TO TURKEY IN HANDCUFFS"
Noting that Cihantimur and his mother have been in prison in the US for over 4 months and that he finds this situation gratifying, Aci said, "I have been saying from the beginning that they should come and surrender to justice, but they chose to come in handcuffs. I believe that a 100 percent extradition decision will be issued for both of them at the hearing next week. They will come to the Republic of Turkey in handcuffs, and I will be waiting for them at the airport with eager anticipation. This is the result for now; it is satisfactory, no problem."

"THE CHILD IS STILL ARROGANT"
Expressing that he does not think the judge presiding over the case will make a decision without examining the events, Aci said, "Ultimately, this is an extradition decision. I believe they will extradite them. That is my belief. I have not been wrong so far, and I hope I will not be wrong from now on because the child is still arrogant. He has been in jail there for four months. Let's see how long he will stay here? Time will tell."
Stating that he has wanted justice since the beginning of the incident, Aci continued as follows:
"Time has not been passing since the morning. We were waiting for the hour with eager anticipation, excited for the case to start as soon as possible. Today passed with excitement, wondering, 'What kind of news will come from our friends in America? Will we be able to communicate? Will we be able to establish contact?' In the end, even if we are grieving, even if we are a grieving father, even if we have a wound in our hearts, we cannot prevent some things. Life goes on somehow; evening comes, morning comes, but it is certain that we will never have our spring again after this date. We have to keep breathing until the day of divine destiny."
