One-month closure decision for popular nightclubs in Beşiktaş

The nightclubs Kütüphane, Bebek Otel, and Amaya, which are among the prominent addresses of nightlife in Beşiktaş, have been closed for one month following recent police raids. The decision was influenced by the venues being associated with illegal activities.

The reason for the maximum penalty applied by the Beşiktaş District Governorship was cited as the involvement of these businesses in drug and prostitution incidents. Immediately following the closure decision from the Istanbul Governor's Office, the businesses were forced to suspend their operations.

Journalist Dilek Güngör, in an announcement regarding the matter on her social media account, stated, "The Istanbul Governor's Office has decided to close the venues named Kütüphane, Bebek Otel, and Amaya, which have recently been mentioned in drug and prostitution raids, for one month. Venues where crimes are committed can be closed through the governor's office. These businesses have received the maximum penalty."

While a new statement regarding the details is expected from the authorities, other businesses in the region are expected to comply with the rules more strictly to avoid facing similar situations. The fact that Beşiktaş's popular venues will be away from nightlife for a while has also caused disappointment among their regulars.
