ACCIDENT DETAILS AND RESCUE EFFORTS
In the accident that occurred yesterday evening on the Kaynarca village road, the vehicle driven by Uğur Akçay plunged 150 meters into a creek bed after the driver lost control of the steering. Upon notification by witnesses of the accident, health, gendarmerie, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene.
Found severely injured, Akçay was extracted from the location using a special rope system.
The young driver, who was taken to Artvin State Hospital by ambulance after initial intervention, could not be saved despite all efforts. It was learned that Akçay worked at the Borçka Forest Management Directorate.
