Open visitation to be permitted in prisons during Ramadan Feast
Open visitation will be permitted in prisons between March 31 and April 6 specifically for the Ramadan Feast. Visitation durations will vary depending on the status of the convicts and detainees.
The General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses has issued a written statement regarding the open visitations to be held for the Ramadan Feast.
Accordingly, open visitations will be held between March 31 and April 6, between 09:00 and 17:00, provided that the visitation duration is not less than half an hour and not more than one and a half hours for adult and young convicts, those convicted but not yet sentenced, and detainees, and not less than one hour and not more than three hours for child convicts, those convicted but not yet sentenced, and detainees.

Groups will be formed by the day of the visit, and the visitation days and hours for each group will be communicated to the convicts and detainees so they can inform their families. Additionally, the prepared schedule will be posted in wards and in appropriate places where visitors can see it.
To prevent overcrowding, escapes, and disturbances, and to ensure discipline and order, the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor and the institution's administration will take all necessary measures in cooperation with law enforcement agencies; a sufficient number of external security officers will be present at the visitation site as observers.
Visitations will not be permitted outside the specified days and hours; convicts, detainees, and visitors who have already had a visit will not be granted permission for a second visit for any reason.
Convicts and detainees who have received a final disciplinary penalty of deprivation of visitor acceptance or placement in solitary confinement, and who are currently serving these sentences, will not be able to benefit from open visitation.
