Operating on behalf of ISIS: 'Alternative Friday prayer' operation
In simultaneous operations conducted in four provinces centered in Istanbul, 46 suspects identified as operating on behalf of ISIS were detained. The suspects were found to have organized through discussion meetings and alternative Friday prayers.
A large-scale operation has been carried out targeting the organizational activities of ISIS, which has carried out terrorist acts on a global scale since emerging in Syria, within Turkey. Security forces detained 46 suspects identified as operating on behalf of the organization in simultaneous raids across four provinces centered in Istanbul.
According to the report by Cumhuriyet, within the scope of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Counter-Terrorism Branch (TEM) and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the suspects were conducting activities under the guise of organizational lessons, discussion meetings, and 'alternative Friday prayers' with individuals linked to conflict zones.
THEY PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE ORGANIZATION
Investigations also revealed that the suspects collected money to provide financial support to ISIS within the scope of so-called mosque activities.

In the operations launched in the morning hours, simultaneous raids were carried out on identified addresses in four provinces, primarily in Istanbul. 46 suspects were apprehended and detained during the operations.
While the interrogations of the detained suspects continue at the police station, it was learned that efforts are ongoing to reach new individuals linked to the organization.
