Operation against Ahbap Association employees in Istanbul! Many detained

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch conducted an operation as part of an investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The operation targeted suspects believed to be connected to members and employees of the Ahbap Association, as part of an investigation into charges of establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, qualified fraud, and money laundering.

MASAK REPORTS AND ACCOUNT TRANSACTIONS EXAMINED

As a result of MASAK reports prepared during the investigation, examinations of account transactions, and technical and physical surveillance, it was determined that the suspects had engaged in high-value money transfers inconsistent with their financial profiles.

The investigation revealed that the suspects transferred large sums of money among themselves, deposited significant amounts into gambling accounts to place bets, and consequently lost large sums of money. It was also determined that they had carried out numerous chain title deed transfers among themselves in a short period of time.

18 PEOPLE DETAINED

Within the scope of the investigation, 18 suspects believed to be linked to members and employees of the Ahbap Association were detained in a simultaneous operation conducted on July 12, 2026.

Searches conducted at the suspects' addresses resulted in the seizure of numerous digital materials, large amounts of cash, gold, checks, promissory notes, and various documents.

It was learned that the investigation and legal proceedings regarding the incident are ongoing.
