Operation against organized crime groups: 30 suspects apprehended

Comprehensive operations were conducted against organized crime groups in Manisa and Yozgat.

According to information shared by Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, operations codenamed "Kuyu-31" were carried out against organized crime groups based in Manisa and Yozgat, with further actions in Trabzon, Tekirdağ, and Hatay.

LEADERS IDENTIFIED

During the operations, members of two separate organized crime groups led by Doğan Gezekli in Manisa and the incarcerated Ahmet Doğan in Yozgat were apprehended. Investigations have been launched against 30 suspects for various crimes.

The apprehended suspects will be tried for crimes including forcibly seizing entertainment venues, shooting at businesses belonging to tradespeople, forcing victims to sign promissory notes through armed threats, arms trafficking, establishing an organization, intentional injury with a weapon, violation of the Tax Procedure Law, deprivation of liberty, extortion, usury, blackmail, and threats.

During the operations, 8 unlicensed pistols, 4 unlicensed rifles, 7 sharp and piercing tools, various amounts of narcotics, and numerous checks and promissory notes were seized. A large-scale investigation is being conducted into the suspects.
