Operations against terrorist organizations ISIS and FETÖ in Ankara

Detention warrants have been issued for 18 suspects in an investigation into the terrorist organizations ISIS and FETÖ in Ankara.

According to the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, as part of the investigation conducted by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, detention warrants were issued for 2 colonels, 3 majors, 2 captains, 3 first lieutenants, 1 non-commissioned officer, and 1 specialist sergeant—all previously dismissed—who were determined to have links and connections to the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization's structure targeting the Air Force Command, known as "covert services," and who were found to have communicated with the organization's civilian imams via payphones at public businesses such as kiosks, grocery stores, and markets across Ankara.

Detention warrants were also issued for 6 suspects identified as members of the ISIS armed terrorist organization, following the analysis of digital materials obtained during previous investigations, which revealed that they communicated via an organizational messaging application and contained digital records confirming their membership in the organization.

Operations to apprehend the 18 suspects across 7 provinces, with Ankara as the base, are being carried out by teams from the Ankara Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch.
