Özel responds to Bahçeli's earthquake message targeting İmamoğlu: 'İmamoğlu is the expert for the job'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli released a notable message following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul.

In his message, Bahçeli stated, "It is near for the Istanbul that was forgotten and left to its fate to be replaced by an Istanbul that is developing, growing, and achieving safety."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded to these words from Bahçeli, who criticized Ekrem İmamoğlu without mentioning him by name.

"İMAMOĞLU IS THE EXPERT FOR THE JOB"

When asked during his visit to the Left Party (Sol Parti) how he evaluated MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's words, "It is possible to overcome a potential disaster by entrusting Istanbul to its experts and deserving hands," Özgür Özel made the following assessment:

"I read it as 'he is suggesting a trial without detention.'

Because who will decide that a city will be entrusted to safe hands?

If we are in a democracy, surely the national will and democracy are what made Mr. Devlet an MP for Osmaniye and the Chairman of his party, right?

We asked the people of Istanbul 3 times. The second one was due to indigestion. We won the first time in 2019. They said, 'Are we going to give you Istanbul with 13 thousand votes?' and renewed the election; we won with a margin of 806 thousand.

We served for 5 years, and the people of Istanbul entrusted Istanbul to us with a margin of over 1 million 100 thousand.

And it wasn't just any term, it was an answer to 5 years of performance. They said, 'Take it and manage it for another five years.' They said, 'I am entrusting the job to the expert.' They said, 'İmamoğlu is the expert for the job.'"
