Özgür Özel calls on independent candidate to 'withdraw'

Reminding that Atatürk entrusted the Republic to the youth, Özel emphasized that the duty lies with the young people.

Stating that the issue of national survival is often described as "foreign powers coming and dreaming about Turkey," Özel said, "The real issue of survival is not the countries of the world coming and dreaming about the most beautiful country in the world. It is the youth of this country, the most beautiful country in the world, dreaming about other countries. We must fight against this."

Calling on young people not to lose hope, Özel said that when they protect the Turkey of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, neither tanks nor cannons can destroy them.

Explaining that retirees have heeded his call and joined the struggle, Özel used the following expression: "Tayyip Erdoğan first said, 'Turkey is growing, everyone is happy, you cannot provoke the retirees, Mr. Özgür.' That day I said, if you deem these conditions fit for retirees and this is what falls to me, then by God, I will provoke them, I swear I will provoke them."

Pointing to a banner carried by a citizen that read, "The votes of teachers go to those who say no to interviews," Özel stated that there are no votes from teachers, families, or young people for those who do not abolish the interview system, and added that they stand with unappointed teachers, those affected by the lack of gradual retirement, internship victims, and Bağ-Kur victims.

Stating that CHP Sarıyer mayoral candidate Mustafa Oktay Aksu is a son of the district, Özel drew attention to the fact that one's loyalty to a party should not be judged on the day they take office, but on the day they leave, and not on the day they are nominated, but on the day they are not.

Özel noted the following:

"Some say, 'I have been the candidate of this party for years.' Very well, then it is time for rejuvenation, time for change; come on, channel your experience elsewhere. Özel addressed the current Sarıyer Mayor and independent mayoral candidate Şükrü Genç, stating the following:

The party's candidate is also clear: Oktay Aksu. Just as the founder of this party is Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, its emblem is the six arrows, and its Chairman is Özgür Özel, the candidate for this party in Sarıyer is Oktay Aksu. Because you are running against the CHP candidate, there is a danger of the AK Party coming to power.
