Özgür Özel issues 'early election' challenge in speech: 'We will definitely remove them'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel issued a challenge with his early election statement in response to Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek's remarks that "the minimum wage in Turkey is not low," stating, "If there is no livelihood, there is an election; if there is no livelihood, there will be an election."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel said that the Aegean Sea should be a sea of peace and brotherhood, not of war and tension.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the D-Marin Passenger Pier for the inauguration of the "Didim-Bodrum Turgutreis Sea Bus Services," implemented in cooperation with the Aydın and Muğla metropolitan municipalities, Özel stated that the region is trying to serve its summer population with winter budget allocations, but that this situation causes difficulties.

Pointing out that they hold a perspective that advocates for the Aegean Sea to bring peace to both sides of the water, Özel said, "The Aegean Sea should be a sea of peace and brotherhood, not of war and tension.

We hope that trust between Greece and Turkey in the Aegean Sea will rise again, that peace will be discussed, and that those who love the same olive oil, eat the same appetizers, and have fun in the same way on both sides of the water will have good relations in tourism and other areas around common interests as friends, not enemies."

"GOVERNMENT, HEAR THIS VOICE"

Emphasizing that improvement efforts should be made regarding retirees, employees, farmers, and tradespeople, Özel continued as follows:

"Government, hear this voice. If there is no livelihood, there is an election. If there is no livelihood, there will be an election. We will make those who do not hear our voice hear it, but if they insist, we will all put up a great fight together.

We will definitely remove this government in the first election to be held, sooner or later.

We do not have 360 deputies for an early election, nor does the opposition. An early election does not happen just because we want it, but it happens when you, the people, want it. If the nation says early election, the ballot box will definitely come, and the government will change."
