Özgür Özel reacts to 'armed' judge Oktay Tabur: He should not sit in that seat for one more day

CHP leader Özgür Özel spoke at the 21st Century New Social Democratic Municipalism Panel.

In his speech, Özel recalled the CHP convention and said, "On November 5, the sentiment on the street was reflected in our members, and the sentiment among our members was reflected in our party."

Regarding the debates on the May 2023 General Elections, Özgür Özel stated, "In 2023, we lost that great hope through a collective failure where there is no need to discuss the details here, and through a process in which no one is innocent."

'THE YOUTH OPENED THE FIRST LOCK, WOMEN OPENED THE SECOND'

Touching upon the policies implemented by the CHP in local government, Özel said, "While opening the 3 big locks for the success gate of the castle of politics, we asked ourselves how we would open this gate. The youth opened the first lock. Women opened the second lock. The third lock was opened by scientific methods and contemporary approaches. Today, we have taken on duties in municipalities across the 4 corners of Turkey with young people and women."

'THEY HAD SINAN ATEŞ SHOT BY STREET DEALERS'

Responding to journalists' questions after the event, Özel gave the following answer to a question about the remarks targeting him by MHP leader Bahçeli:

Some factions within the MHP are trying to pick a fight with the CHP. My concern is the children and wife of Sinan Ateş, who was shot by street dealers in the middle of the capital. I am fighting against the mentality that left that funeral on the ground. They cannot hide their crimes by fighting with me.

'THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR SOLD IN TURKEY IS UNDER A JUDGE'

Reacting to Oktay Tabur, a judge at the İzmir Courthouse, for driving a luxury brand vehicle and displaying his weapons in the courthouse lounge, Özel made the following assessments:

Of course, we do not want to cast suspicion on all members of the judiciary in Turkey. But there are mobile guillotines in Turkey. There are guillotines that are moved from court to court under the instructions of some and that slaughter justice.

In Turkey, our world leader decides who will go to prison, and other world leaders decide who will be released from prison.

Those who sign these decisions act as if they are deciding on behalf of all of us, but in reality, they are carrying out instructions. While carrying out those instructions, it appears that they are not satisfied with just the salaries they receive.

The most expensive car sold in Turkey is under him, and he said he earned it on the stock market when asked; that car is the most expensive car sold in Turkey and it is under a judge.

'THEY ARE CHALLENGING ALL OF US WITH WEAPONS'

By carrying out the instructions they received from someone, using disproportionate, illegal, and unconstitutional force on behalf of someone, they are challenging all of us with the expensive cars under them and the long-barreled weapons behind them.

This image is not a matter of democracy; this is a matter of rebellion. There is an incompetent, ambitious person there who is emboldened by those who rebel, by those who raise their heads.

'HE SHOULD NOT SIT IN THAT SEAT FOR ONE MORE DAY'

If he sits in that seat for one more day, if a disciplinary investigation is not initiated by the HSK with a request for dismissal, how will Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç sit in his own seat? The HSK needs to take action and do what is necessary.
