Özgür Özel's harsh reaction to the trustee: Those who engage in politics through treachery will never succeed

With an interim decision issued by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, the CHP Istanbul Provincial Administration has been suspended from duty as a precautionary measure. In the scope of the lawsuit filed regarding the 38th CHP Istanbul Congress, a temporary administration consisting of Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz, and Erkan Narsap has been appointed to replace the suspended administration.

Gürsel Tekin, who accepted the role of trustee by saying "I am ready for duty," has been expelled from the party.

It was observed that citizens showed great interest in the rally held at Zeytinburnu 15 July Square.

CHP CHAIRMAN ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SPOKE

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who attended the Zeytinburnu rally after visiting IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, began his speech by saying, "Welcome, all of you, the brave and upright people of Zeytinburnu who defend the will of Istanbul, who defend the votes they cast, who defend the administrator they elected, and who defend the provincial chairman and mayors they elected," and continued as follows:

"They are raising the stakes in evil, they think you will be afraid. They say, we will take the decision and appoint trustees, we will silence and intimidate the CHP. Greetings to those who do not remain silent, to those who do not surrender. Hey Erdoğan, take a look at this square, this square has left fear at home."

"THE SKILL IS NEVER TO BE CRUSHED IN THIS WORLD"

Özel continued his speech, in which he recited verses from Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu's poem 'Marifet' (Skill), as follows:

"Zeytinburnu square is the best answer to the coup plotters of March 19, the trustee-seekers, those who hope for trustees, and those obsessed with trustees. This square is the best answer. The skill, the skill is never to be crushed in this world. But if they manage to crush you, to smell beautiful. Like thyme, like lavender, like basil, like lemon balm, like Jesus, like Tonguç, like Yunus, like Ekrem, the issue is to smell beautiful."

"While some continue to try to crush our friends, we are with those who smell beautiful even when crushed, who do not smell foul, who do not harbor filth, dirt, or the scent or essence of evil within them. Yet, we are facing a gang with dirty hands, a dirty mind, a dirty fate, a dirty past, and a dirty future. We will certainly not be afraid or intimidated by them. We made bread plentiful. We turned pain into honey. We turned the Sirat bridge into a path. That is how we reached today. We come as sown crops, we come as crushed flour. One goes, a thousand come. Is crushing us a salvation? Here, here is our provincial chairman elected by the will of Istanbul, by your will."

"DO NOT WALK BEHIND THAT COWARD ANY LONGER!"

Addressing the AKP youth, Özgür Özel said, "For years your 'Reis' played, won, and rejoiced," and made the following remarks:

"We won after 47 years. When you were defeated after 23 years, your 'Reis' took the ball and is trying to cut it. He is a coward! Take that ball from your grandfather's hands. We win, we lose, democracy is necessary for all of us. Do not be the team of cowards. Do not walk behind that coward any longer!"

"NO ONE'S CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION IS GUARANTEED ANYMORE"

Özgür Özel said the following regarding the interim decision issued about the Istanbul Provincial Administration:

"This judicial gang has led Turkey down a dirty path. No one's certificate of election is guaranteed anymore. The election won has no importance. The document in hand has no importance. They have requested precautionary measures from civil courts of first instance nine times regarding the Istanbul Provincial Congress and our grand assembly, trying to convince a civil court of first instance. Nine judges said, 'At this stage, a precautionary measure means a final decision,' and rejected these requests, saying it was wrong. They found the 10th one.

They set up the conspiracy they wanted. But they have suspended election law and free elections in Turkey. I express my gratitude to each of the opposition party leaders who are under threat, who shared on social media, and who called to convey their thoughts to us. However, it is not only the opposition parties that are under threat. It is the entire multi-party regime. It is the electoral races. We are facing a regime that does not leave when it loses, that usurps authority, usurps the law, and usurps democracy. We will not surrender to this heartlessness.

"THOSE WHO ENGAGE IN POLITICS THROUGH TREACHERY WILL NEVER SUCCEED"

"No one should overestimate Erdoğan, his party, or his junta. To be great, to be brave, first requires being in the right. Those who engage in politics through cowardice and treachery will never succeed!"

İMAMOĞLU ADDRESSED CITIZENS FROM SİLİVRİ

Presidential Candidate and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been detained in Silivri for 165 days, addressed the citizens gathered in Zeytinburnu.

In his letter read by Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, İmamoğlu included the following statements:

“We are together for democracy, justice, and freedom in Zeytinburnu, our historical and natural heritage established under the leadership of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. We have been in resistance since March 19 against those who try to seize our heavenly homeland through political engineering, lawsuits, arrests, desk-bound plans, and trustees. Our greatest hope against those who try to end democracy with political tutelage is our nation, which made Saraçhane echo with its loud voice on March 19. They cannot stop this mobilization of hope, which they are trying to end, by taking us hostage or by threatening the CHP. It will not be coups, but democracy that will govern the Republic of Turkey. Those who choose to wage war on the nation, those who use state institutions to usurp the national will, and those who hope for trustees will be defeated by your will and will lose. The conspiracy carried out by the judiciary yesterday has once again shown that they are trying to usurp the nation's right to determine its own destiny and change the government through democratic means. They want to do this by destroying the Republican People's Party, which stands with an unshakable will in front of all the evils inflicted upon our state and nation.”

“In this respect, we have been saying from the first day; the issue is Turkey's issue. It is Turkey's free, fair, and prosperous future. Let them know this well; no force will be able to take hostage the will that founded the Republic, Turkey's leading party, and the sovereignty of the nation. The Republican People's Party is the insurance of the Republic of Turkey and our democracy. They think they can get results by trying to tarnish our pristine Istanbul Provincial Congress and our Grand Assembly, by threatening our party with trustees, and by disregarding the will of our delegates. I state this strongly from here; CHP congresses and our Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik are our honor. Let them know that no politician who says 'I am a CHP member' will be a tool for this usurpation of will and dishonor. The power to stop this attack on democracy exists in your hearts, in your minds, in your souls, and in your belief in Turkey and democracy. We will not get tired and we will never give up. Together, we will defend our future and our democracy.”

“For 6 years, we worked without separating Istanbul's 39 districts from each other. We saw every corner of this city as a sacred trust handed over to us. We have always acted with the consciousness of being the guardian of Istanbul. Thanks to this, we became the administration that produced the most subways, made the most infrastructure and environmental investments, and provided the most social assistance in Istanbul's history on an annual average. Now, those who try to portray us as a criminal organization have been subjecting us to constant examination, investigation, and inspection for years. They are now trying to create themselves, through some members of the judiciary who have entered under the command of the government, what they could not find with over a thousand examinations, investigations, and inspections. They are trying to make people slanderers, produce evidence, and fabricate crimes through pressure, threats, and blackmail.”

“We are waiting patiently for the indictment to be prepared and the trial to begin. When that day comes, everyone will see who is judging whom. They will lose this case, which they have already lost in the conscience of the nation, against us as well. They will not succeed. They will not be able to reverse the flow of history by ignoring the law, the nation's conscience, and its will. There are tens of millions of people across this country whose hearts are full of pain, who have to struggle with the injustices they are exposed to. There is no justice in a system that works in favor of the powerful, not the righteous, and operates under the control of a handful of people, not institutions and rules. And when there is no justice, there is neither prosperity nor peace. That is why everyone is looking for justice. This nation is looking for justice not only in courts but in every field of life. The nation is looking for justice in the income it earns, in the taxes it pays, and in the opportunities and possibilities offered by the state. We are struggling to end our nation's search for justice and to make justice the foundation not only of our state but of our happiness, our brotherhood, and our wealth.”

“We will be united and we will succeed together. The state will derive its power not from pressure and tyranny, but from the trust that it is fair. In this country, it will no longer be the words of individuals, but of institutions and rules that will prevail. The state will be at an equal distance to every citizen, every party, and every segment of society, and will provide public services without discrimination. A century ago, that great uprising of this noble nation began by saying 'either independence or death.' We also set out on this path by saying 'either justice or captivity, either justice or misery.' We will never stop until we reach the beautiful days that await us at the end of the road. All of us, as citizens, will fulfill our duties, and this beautiful country will attain justice and freedom. Those who say justice first, freedom first for everyone and everywhere will win. Everything will be very beautiful. Ekrem İmamoğlu. Silivri Dungeon.”

ÖZGÜR ÇELİK AT THE ZEYTINBURNU RALLY AFTER THE DECISION

CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik said the following at the Zeytinburnu rally:

"For 300 days, we have been waging a great struggle for justice, freedom, and justice all over Istanbul and Turkey. They want to interrupt this struggle. They want to stop you, to stop us. Greetings to those who have been seeking justice, seeking democracy, and seeking freedom in the squares of Istanbul for 300 days."

İMAMOĞLU HAD CALLED BY SAYING 'WE HAVE A WILL LIKE STEEL, YOU CANNOT BEND IT'

Detained elected Presidential Candidate and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu had invited citizens to the rally with a post he made yesterday. In his call made from the Presidential Candidate Office Account, İmamoğlu included the expressions, "We have a will like steel, you cannot bend it."
