Özgür Özel slams TFF over Super Cup crisis: 'Put an end to this farce!'
CHP leader Özgür Özel has reacted to the TFF regarding the national anthem and Atatürk banner crisis that occurred ahead of the Super Cup final between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, which was set to be played in Saudi Arabia.
The Turkish Football Federation decided to hold the 100th-anniversary Super Cup final in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, despite backlash from the sports community.
Ahead of the match, which was scheduled to start at 20:45 today, Saudi authorities did not permit banners and t-shirts featuring Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Following this crisis, citizens called on Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray not to take the field.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel also issued a statement on the matter.
Özgür Özel used the following expressions:
"We said that Turkey's Super Cup Final should not be played in Saudi Arabia. You did not listen. Information is now coming in that those who could not tolerate a banner featuring the words of our founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Riyadh will now not allow the National Anthem either.
We stand behind our clubs. We warn the authorities; put an end to this farce!"
