Özgür Özel: 'We are showing our red cards until the ballot box arrives'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel attended the Kemalpaşa Municipality Collective Opening and Groundbreaking Ceremony. Signaling an early election in his remarks, Özel said, "We are standing up and showing our red cards until the ballot box arrives."

"Some people on social media, some from their warm homes, turn up their noses and ask what are you going to do?" said Özel, speaking about the 'red card campaign'. 

'WE WANT AN ELECTION WITH OUR RED CARDS'

Özel stated the following: 

"A red card to those who withdrew from the Istanbul Convention in a single night and increased violence against women. A red card to those who condemn retirees to a starvation wage, to those who say 14 thousand 500 liras. A red card to those who raise the minimum wage by 30 percent while taking 8 thousand liras from each of our pockets, to those who do not set the minimum wage at 30 thousand liras. From now on, wherever the CHP is, in every meeting, on every street, in every worker shuttle, in the fields, in the villages, we are standing up and showing our red cards until the ballot box arrives," he said.

Emphasizing an early election, Özel said:

"We said if there is a livelihood, then there is no problem. We said you saw the yellow card on March 31. But they did not hear you, they did not listen to us who voice your demands. From now on, there is no asking them for anything; is there a livelihood with these salaries? If there is no livelihood, there is an election; we want an election with our red cards until the election arrives."
