Patient's relative attacks doctor: Grabbed her hair and dragged her on the floor!

A new incident has been added to the recently increasing cases of violence. Doctor İ.S., working at the İzmir Gaziemir State Hospital Emergency Department, was attacked by a patient's relative. Following the attack, Doctor İ.S., who suffered a head trauma, was taken under treatment at Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.

A statement regarding the incident came from the İzmir Medical Chamber. The statement included the following: "A colleague of ours working in the emergency department of Gaziemir State Hospital was first subjected to a verbal attack (insult) in the emergency room. A 'white code' was issued following the incident. The individuals who left the hospital after the white code was issued returned to the hospital and this time physically assaulted our colleague. The attackers grabbed our colleague by her hair, dragged her on the floor, and beat her. The treatment of our colleague, who suffered a head trauma, is still ongoing at Atatürk Training and Research Hospital."
