Penalties coming for fake authorized services!
As a result of investigations conducted by the Ministry of Trade into advertisements on internet search engines and social media, 15 million TL in administrative fines have been imposed on fake authorized services over the last two years.
The Ministry of Trade has determined, following complaints received, that consumers seeking repair, maintenance, and spare parts services—particularly for boilers, home appliances, air conditioners, and mobile phones—have been victimized by services that promote themselves as authorized despite not being so.
In this context, as a result of inspections carried out by the Ministry of Trade regarding fake authorized services and investigations conducted by the Advertising Board within the Ministry of Trade into advertisements on internet search engines and social media, approximately 15 million TL in administrative fines have been imposed over the last two years.
The Ministry of Trade has also filed criminal complaints with the offices of public prosecutors against individuals involved in cases where inspections revealed practices constituting criminal offenses.
