People waiting for a shuttle bus showered with bullets
Two of the three suspects who opened fire on people waiting for a shuttle bus to go to work in Antalya have been arrested, while one was released under judicial control.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning, October 12, at around 06:45 in the Kökez neighborhood of the Serik district. According to eyewitness accounts, two masked individuals who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle opened fire with a pump-action shotgun at a group of three people, including two women, who were waiting for a shuttle bus, and then fled.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. 41-year-old Mutlu Özkan, who was struck by the bullets, sustained injuries to various parts of his body. Özkan was taken to the hospital by ambulance after receiving initial medical intervention from the health teams.
Following the incident, the Serik District Police Department teams examined numerous security camera recordings. The investigation revealed that individuals in two separate vehicles were also involved in the incident along with the individuals on the motorcycle.
The teams apprehended and detained the 3 suspects. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to judicial authorities, and the pump-action shotgun believed to have been used in the incident was also seized.
Of the suspects referred to the courthouse, Yılmaz E. and Mehmet K. were arrested, while A.Ç. was released under judicial control conditions.
