Photo reporting the Sinan Ateş murder emerges: Courier's 'mission accomplished' post

Former Idealist Hearths President and Hacettepe University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Ankara on December 30, 2022.

According to a report by Asuman Aranca from T24, the gunman Özyağcı, who shot Sinan Ateş, was dropped off by the motorcycle courier Balkaya, who had brought him to the scene, in front of an abandoned gas station on the Gölbaşı-Haymana road.

CAPTURED IN KOCAELİ

While Tolgahan Demirbaş, who was revealed to be an Idealist Hearths executive, picked up Özyağcı from that location, the courier Balkaya set off toward Istanbul on his motorcycle.

The gunman Özyağcı remained at large for approximately 1.5 months, while Balkaya, who was attempting to flee, was captured in Kocaeli on the evening of the same day.

'MISSION ACCOMPLISHED' POST

A mobile phone and a GPS device were found on Balkaya. According to the evidence obtained, Balkaya posed for a 'mission accomplished' photo at a rest stop after the murder.

Accordingly, the courier Balkaya takes a break on the road and takes several photos in front of a mirror in a restroom he entered.

It is understood that Balkaya also stopped his motorcycle while on the road to take photos. It is not yet clear with whom the courier Balkaya shared the photo in which he posed as 'mission accomplished'.
